About Dr. Shannon

Claire Shannon, MD, joined the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2019. While she cares for patients of all ages, Dr. Shannon specializes in pediatric orthopedics, and has a special interest in deformity correction and limb lengthening.

After earning her medical degree, Dr. Shannon completed a fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She then joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore as an assistant professor of orthopedics and as the director of the pediatric limb reconstruction program.

Committed to staying up to date with advancements in orthopedic care best practices for pediatrics and limb lengthening, Dr. Shannon is active with the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, as well as the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society. She is involved in numerous multicenter research projects and the education of other physicians in pediatric orthopedics and limb reconstruction techniques.
