Limb Reconstruction Fellowship
The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute Limb Reconstruction Fellowship combines full-spectrum operative and clinical management experience in upper and lower limb reconstruction of congenital, developmental and post-traumatic bone and joint deformities.
Fellows learn the newest techniques of osteotomy surgery, joint and soft tissue reconstruction and preservation surgery, and gain extensive limb-lengthening experience using the newest internal deformity correction techniques. The program also teaches surgical hip dislocation techniques, pelvic osteotomies and the most advanced femoral osteotomies, including femoral head reduction osteotomy.
Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship
The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute offers a Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship, with training in comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care, including upper and lower limb and spinal deformity correction.
Fellows will become proficient in pediatric hip, knee, ankle, and foot reconstruction, as well as upper and lower limb and spinal deformity correction. This fellowship includes ample opportunity to learn congenital, developmental, and post-traumatic limb and spinal deformity pathology. This is an active fellowship with a wide range of pediatric surgical exposure.
Scrubbed Observer | Research Fellowship
The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute Scrubbed Observer and Research Fellowship is a 2-month, or more, program designed for licensed orthopedic surgeons seeking advanced training via procedural observation in limb deformities, limb-length discrepancy correction, arthritic joint care and preservation, non-unions, bone defects, osteomyelitis, and orthopedic oncology.
International fellows participate in weekly case conferences and lectures by attending physicians, scrub in surgery, and complete one or more research projects.

Foot and Ankle Deformity Fellowship
The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute offers a year-long Foot and Ankle Deformity Fellowship. The fellow will develop an in-depth understanding of the pathophysiologic, clinical, radiographic, and musculoskeletal evaluation of foot and ankle deformities. This fellow will learn the principles and techniques required for the management of musculoskeletal foot and ankle deformities, including nonoperative treatment, preoperative planning and assessment, surgical decision making, and postoperative management and rehabilitation.
Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities will be assigned. The fellow will master the surgical skills necessary to perform accurate foot and ankle deformity correction procedures. The procedures that the fellow will participate in include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Application and removal of internal and external fixation
- Malunion and nonunion repair
- Bone lengthening
- Fracture repair
- Bone and joint infection
- Deformity correction
- Revision surgery
- Total ankle joint replacement.
The fellow will be supervised directly by Dr. Lamm. The fellow’s performance will be reviewed every two months, and goals will be set to improve the fellow’s education.
The academic component of the fellowship emphasizes a scholarly approach to clinical problem solving, analysis of foot and ankle deformity correction, and research. The fellow will participate in research meetings at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, surgical teaching conferences, and journal club meetings. The fellow will also complete a research project and will submit this research to the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) to be considered for presentation at the annual ACFAS meeting.
