Case 38: Posteromedial Bowing of the Right Tibia
Nine year-old boy with posteromedial bowing of the right tibia, with equinus deformity of the right ankle and recurvatum deformity of the lower right tibia. He had a starting limb length discrepancy of 9 cm. We performed deformity correction and lengthening simultaneously using the Taylor spatial frame (TSF) external fixator with osteotomy to the tibia and fibula. We corrected the equinus deformity of the ankle with a gastrocsoleus recession. Patient returned 6 years later for second lengthening to completely eliminate limb length discrepancy.
