The Paley Institute is an internationally renowned orthopedic center of excellence treating children and adults with complex orthopedic conditions. Patients travel from all over the world and the United States to be treated by The Paley Institute and to receive therapy at our specialized physical therapy department. The institute has its own on-site rehabilitation department, which works closely with the outpatient clinic and surgical staff in order to provide comprehensive, specialized treatment strategies for our patients. The Paley Institute is on the campus of St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.


Clinical Research Coordinator

The Paley Institute is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to help run clinical trials for the treatment of rare bone diseases and conditions.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Data collection, entry, tracking, and analysis
  • Development of trial related tools such as source documents to capture trial data
  • Development and implementation of patient tracking systems to ensure that all study evaluations are completed in an appropriate time frame
  • Execution and management of quality of life questionnaires (QOL)
  • Informed consent process
  • Record keeping and maintenance of study files
  • Ensures compliance with GCP, federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations related to research involving human subjects and human subject-derived information and materials
  • Patient recruitment, enrollment and scheduling (for some studies, the CRC may market and promote Institute to recruit potential subjects)
  • Performing protocol related training
  • Assisting in the preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation and submission (including initial and continuing review, and changes in the conduct of study)
  • Performing clinical study start-up, budget creation, execution, closeout, audit, and reporting activities
  • Medline/PubMed literature searches as needed
  • Assisting in the preparation of abstracts, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presentations
  • Maintaining a synergistic relationship with primary investigator and clinicians

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to function independently and also work cooperatively with others
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and informatics
  • ACRP or comparable certification preferred
  • Orthopedic clinical experience preferred


  • Commensurate with experience

Graphic Designer

The Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute is looking for a creative Graphic Designer with up-to-date knowledge to interpret our business needs and to design solutions with high visual impact. The position will require work on a variety of products, including websites, books, magazines, product packaging, advertisements, exhibitions, branding etc. and will cooperate with our design, marketing and patient experience teams.

The Graphic Designer will implement creative solutions that resonate with current and future patients in order to increase brand awareness and customer interaction, generate leads and increase patient conversion. The position shall possess the ability to bring a variety of projects to fruition, should be highly motivated, creative and possess experience in graphic design in many different mediums.


  • Cultivate a solid body of work
  • Take the design “brief” to record requirements and Paley Institute needs
  • Schedule project implementation and define budget constraints
  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas
  • Amend final designs based on feedback
  • Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
  • Work as part of a marketing and patient experience team


  • Proven graphic designing experience
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc)
  • Highly proficient in all design aspects

Medical Assistant / Office Coordinator

This position is responsible for assisting physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office.  Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician. Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients.  Perform EKG and Phlebotomy.  Ensures proper medical documentation of office visits.  Assists in scheduling of procedures and acts as Office Coordinator in the office coordinator (will be trained)

Orthopedic Technologist

The primary focus of the Orthopedic Technician is to assist physician with the application of external fixation, internal fixation and other general orthopedic surgical procedures where limb lengthening and deformity correction is performed. The Orthopedic Technician will also assist the physician with post-operative care and follow up to include wound checks, dressing changes, splints and casting to treat injured hips, knees or limbs.  In addition, assist with traction devices, demonstrate to patient’s proper use of crutches, adjust braces and help prepare patients for procedures. Assist with injections, ordering x-rays, sterilizing equipment, assisting in patient assessment, and documenting patient conditions.

Surgical Scheduling Coordinator

Primarily responsible for providing complete patient pre-operative and post-operative surgical scheduling functions and for the assigned doctor while providing outstanding customer service. Coordinates scheduling of the surgical sites and appointments for all physicians while facilitating surgical dates with patients, relatives, and/or other support systems, and assuring surgeon preferences with the available resources. Office coordinator and additional duties may be assigned.
